Staff at a Hemel Hempstead-based holiday company have all become ‘dementia friends’ in a bid to raise awareness of Alzheimer’s.

The new campaign run by Public Health England and the Alzheimer’s Society covers Herts, Beds, Northants and Milton Keynes and encourages people to play their part in tackling one of the biggest health issues facing the country.

Bourne Leisure, which has its headquarters in Hemel’s Park Lane, is among the first to sign up to the scheme which also has backing from a whole host of celebrities.

Sir Terry Pratchett, Lily Allen, Ray Winstone, Paul O’Grady and Amanda Holden are among the stars who featured in a new ad for the campaign – in which they perform the Beatles’ With a Little Help From my Friends – which aired for the first time last night.
