CLARE Hopson is helping drive six ambulances 10,000 miles to Mongolia.
The Northchurch 24-year-old is one of 20 volunteers taking part from London Ambulance Service, international aid charity Go Help and children’s charity MERU.
They will leave the former London ambulances with emergency services in the poverty-stricken country.
Clare (far right of photo, above) said: “These ambulances have reached the end of their active life in London and so we’re taking them where they can continue to help people on the other side of the world.”
The team, also fundraising MERU, go through Europe, Russia and Kazakhstan before reaching Mongolian capital Ulaanbaatar.
They began the trip, part of the Mongolia Charity Rally, on July 9, and expect to be finished by mid-August. Above, they are with ambulance staff in Kaunas, Lithuania.
