BBC One’s Flog It! was filming at Tring Market Auctions today – and here’s our video about it.
Entries for today’s sale were selected by the daytime antiques show’s team of experts during a valuation day at English Heritage’s Wrest Park House in Silsoe last month.
Speaking earlier, Auctioneer Stephen Hearn, who is also mayor of Tring, said: “I must say things are going very well this morning.
“There have been some exceptionally good prices paid and there are very few unsold items.”
He said the Indian black stone figures at the sale had sold particularly well – fetching up to six times the estimated price. The top price paid for them was £6,500, Mr Hearn said.
Earlier today, he said: “A good morning has been had by everyone. We have had lots and lots of fun here today and I am looking forward to a good afternoon.”
Today’s fine art sale began at 11am, though viewing was available from 9am today and from 9am to 8pm yesterday.
The sale rooms were open to the public as usual on both days.
The five editions of Flog It! recorded at Wrest Park House and Gardens and Tring Market Auctions will be broadcast as part of its 13th series.
