A top house music DJ and producer who remixed Professor Green’s track Remedy has revealed that his career began when he started doing garage music parties in Tring.
Back in 2001 scores of youngsters from the town’s secondary school and around the area used to attend the regular party nights, which were run by Michael Dodman and his pals at Tring Athletic’s base in Cow Lane.
Michael, known in the music industry as DJ Huxley, used the venue in his home town because at the time he was aged just 16 and couldn’t legally go into nightclubs.
He said: “It was a good way of learning how to run a night and do all the promotions. My friends and I would have about 100 people there so it was a nice little earner.”
Nowadays the 27-year-old, who lives in Watford, is well known in the underground music scene for his tracks Box Clever and Let It Go.
He is usually found playing warehouse parties in Shoreditch, super clubs Manumission and Fabric and has also worked at other top clubs around the world.
