Hemel Hempstead’s town centre market was re-launched under a new operator at the weekend.
Saunders Markets Ltd, who now oversees the Saturday stalls, brought in the changes with a magician and face painting for children, and a specialist food market in the food court.
The company’s director Gary Saunders has many plans to rejuvenate the market, including uniform fleeces for traders and a standardised style across stalls.
A feedback stand at the market on Saturday also allowed shoppers to have their say on the changes. Mr Saunders said: “The support we have been getting so far is really good, we now have to build on it and put things right that have been going wrong here over the years.”
