A HOSPICE’S first sprint triathlon in conjunction with the RAF has put the charity on path to raising more than £10,000.
The Iain Rennie Grove House event with RAF Halton on Saturday was won by Ronald Kemp, from Tring, who completed 10 laps of a 30m pool, 21km cycle and 5km run in just 59 mins 23 secs.
Roland’s job as a strength and conditioning coach at the tennis centre on the RAF base and being an experienced triathlete put him in the right condition to take on the 64 participants.
He said: “It was a really enjoyable event and it was great to see people of all ages and different levels of fitness getting out there and taking part.
“We really appreciate the work that was done by all the volunteers and marshalls who looked after us so well.”
