YOUNG readers and their families enjoyed a party to celebrate 20 years of a government initiative that encourages parents to read with their children.
Eleven families joined the Book Start birthday party at Orchard Children’s Centre, in Dundale School, Tring, last Friday.
The organisation’s outreach worker Lisa Maxwell said: “It went really well and all the families joined in with the stories and rhymes and sang happy birthday.”
Last week children’s groups across the country took part in Book Start Week activities.
Orchard launched its Facebook page and is looking forward to the year ahead and the support it will receive from being one of the Tring mayor’s charities of the year.
