TWO good causes that help the homeless have joined forces to help people get back on their feet.

Dacorum Emergency Night Shelter (DENS) and Dacorum Rent Aid (DRA) merged at the start of the month.

The new organisation will run the DENS night shelter and day centre and the DRA Rent Deposit Scheme, which pays rent in advance to private landlords to secure properties for homeless people.

Chief executive of DENS Andrew Liversidge said: “Both organisations have strengths that support each other. They share the same values. The new organisation will support their users in an even more joined up way.” He said jobs would be safe under the merger.

Chairman of DRA Anthony Culley said: “The new organisation will be able to provide more housing solutions for the homeless.” For more information visit or call 01442 262274.
