From a Star Wars-style landspeeder bicycle to a scootathlon competition, there were plenty of reasons to be both green and healthy at Bridgewater Primary School last week.
The school spent five days encouraging parents and pupils to leave the car at home and cycle or scoot to school, with fancy dress competitions, tips on cycle skills, and a cycle security session by local Police Community Support Officers.
Year 2 student Jessica Dixon said: “It’s been brilliant. I’m going to ask my mum to scoot to school more often now I know I can do it. I’ll ask and ask and ask.”
