West Herts League

IT was a weekend to remember for Hemel Rovers’ Paul Hanafan as he bagged four goals to earn his side the points against Wellington Arms.

The striker’s superb quadruple secured a hard-fought 4-2 win for Rovers in a good overall team performance.

SWR Doors, meanwhile, had no problems in beating Croxley C&H 4-0. Goals by Aaron Lewis, Ryan Lee, Alex Mcarthy and Joel Williams did the damage.

Elsewhere, efforts from Henry Dakat (2) and Joshua Moya (2) saw Kings Sports beat Harpenden Rovers 4-2.

Bovingdon failed to win again and stay routed to the bottom of the division after a 3-0 loss to Hemel Rovers Reserves. Anthony Tankard, Josh Bromfield and Wasim Hussain got the goals.

Gadebridge FC shared the points with Harpenden Rovers Reserves after a Charlie Martindale goal earned them a 1-1 draw, while Tring Athletic B shared a 0-0 stalemate with Abbots Langley.

A Mike Pettingell goal for top dogs Potten End was not enough as they went down 2-1 at Langleybury, and Hemel Sharpshooters also lost by the odd goal in a 3-2 defeat at Sarratt. Matt Reynolds got both the Hemel goals.

Keeperless Hemel Rovers A , who have conceded more goals than any other team in the league – 78 in 18 games – picked up a valuable 2-1 win after two 16-year-olds bailed them out.

Tom Bagley and Calum Jones salvaged the win after Rovers went behind at Oxhey Reserves.
