Biggleswade United 0 Tring Athletic 2
Tring Athletic came away with all three points after producing an excellent first half display against Biggleswade United on Saturday.
Despite missing a number of key players, Tring secured the win with goals from Connor Smith and Connor Waite.
It was Biggleswade who had the first chance of the game when a long ball found James Peters through on goal, but Tring keeper Adam Robinson blocked the effort.
As the game progressed, Athletic began to dominate, and they took the lead after 12 minutes.
Smith was fouled just outside the United area, and he picked himself up to curl a superb free-kick over United keeper Scott Waters.
In the 42nd minute Athletic should have increased their lead, but Waite shot wide following good work from Stewart King.
It did not take Waite long to make amends, though, and he ensured that Tring took a 2-0 lead into half-time when he chipped in from Smith’s perfectly-weighted pass.
Vinnie Iannone came on for King with around 20 minutes left to play, and the substitute came close to adding a third for Tring.
Ray Brown found Iannone, but his shot flew past the post.
