HEMEL Town Ladies breezed through to the second qualifying round of the FA Cup with a comfortable win at Hoddesdon Owls on Sunday.

Heading into the half-time interval with a deserved 2-1 advantage, Hemel dominated the second half to add three more goals to their tally and secure a 5-1 victory.

Mickey Taylor was the star of the show for the Tudors as she bagged a hat-trick to maintain her impressive form in front of goal.

It was the effervescent Taylor who opened the scoring for Hemel after seven minutes, and livewire Titch Wood-Thompson doubled the advantage with 20 minutes on the clock.

The Tudors defence, though, suffered a lapse of concentration later in the half, and the home side took advantage to pull a goal back before the interval.

The second half saw Hemel squander a number of decent goal-scoring opportunities, but three goals in the last 10 minutes made sure of the victory.

The outstanding Taylor completed her treble with two well-taken efforts, before Charlene Turturici struck the visitors’ fifth goal.

The win hands Hemel a home tie against Leighton United in the next qualifying round of the famous competition.
