RYAN Redford returned to former club Hertford Town with a bang as his brace helped Tring Athletic to a 4-1 victory.
Athletic captain Graham Hall also bagged a quickfire second half double to send Phil Casserley’s Tring side home with three crucial points.
The game started scrappily, but Redford netted the opener for Tring in the 17th minute as he headed home Dave Whicker’s fine cross from the right.
Redford continued to look dangerous, but it was the home side who struck next, equalising shortly after half-time.
Tring, though, responded well, and two headed goals from Hall inside the space of four minutes restored the visitors’ lead.
First, a Redford corner was flicked on by Whicker, and Hall ghosted in to find the net from close range.
And the Tring man added his second to give his side a two-goal advantage as Redford’s cross was put back across goal for the Athletic skipper to finish well.
With the wind now firmly in their sails, Tring wrapped the game up late on as the impressive Redford pounced for his second goal of the game.
