Hemel Hempstead Town FC sent out a warning signal to their title rivals on Tuesday night with a crushing 10-0 victory over struggling Bashley.
Striker Ben Mackey helped himself to five goals as the high-flying Tudors put their visitors to the sword with a ruthless attacking display.
The win keeps Hemel hot on the heels of Calor League Southern Premier Division leaders Chesham, and the Tudors have now scored an incredible 49 goals from their 13 league fixtures this season.
Dean Brennan’s side went into the game full of confidence following Saturday’s 9-1 mauling of North Greenford United, and they quickly took control of the game against bottom side Bashley.
Hemel went in font early on through Ollie Hawkins, and two more goals quickly followed courtesy of Dave Pearce and top-scorer Mackey.
Mackey added a fourth inside 30 minutes, and the forward completed his hat-trick to put the Tudors well and truly in control of the game.
There was still more to come before half-time as Pearce bagged his second goal of the night and, with the game already won, Brennan introduced Thomas Opoku, Charlie Mpi and Wilson Carvalho from the bench at the interval.
Hemel continued to pour forward after the break and an own goal made it 7-0, before Mackey notched his fourth of the night to make it eight.
Pearce bagged the ninth to ensure Hemel broke their previous record home win, and a penalty from Mackey wrapped things up late on.
