It was yet another bad day at the office for Leverstock Green on Saturday as they suffered their 11th straight league defeat.

Two second half goals from Omar El-Bakkali did the damage for the Tigers to leave Levy rooted to the foot of the SSML Premier Division table.

Leverstock could have taken the lead in the opening minute when Connor Deadman had a chance inside the box, but home keeper Ben Sherlock saved his shot.

Half-chances continued to arrive for Green, while at the other end Tigers went close in the 23rd minute when a fierce shot from Balasz Sinko struck the bar.

In the final minute of the half Tunde Owolabi won the ball in his own penalty area and played it upfield to set Alex McCarthy on the run down the right. McCarthy’s cross found Deadman, but he pulled his shot wide.

Leverstock’s first half performance promised much, but once again they faded disappointingly after the interval.

There was a chance in the 52nd minute when Deadman ran down the right and crossed to find McCarthy at the far post, but his volley went over the bar.

However, two minutes later the Green defence was split open by a pass down the middle from Sinko which put El-Bakkali clean through, and the forward made no mistake as he took the ball past David Durbridge and ran it into the empty net to open the scoring.

El-Bakkali sealed the points for his side with a well-taken second goal in the 83rd minute to leave Green in big trouble at the bottom of the league.
