Hemel Hempstead Town continued their impressive pre-season form with a 3-1 victory over a strong Leighton Town side.

The Tudors have looked sharp in their friendly matches and the latest triumph makes it seven wins from eight pre-season outings.

Hemel took the lead in the first half with a well taken goal from striker Lewis Toomey, who looked very sharp throughout the contest.

The second half saw Leighton Town get a deserved equaliser after a mass Hemel substitution, but the Tudors regained the lead soon afterwards when Jake Gilbert scored with a bullet header from a Danny Talbot corner.

And the win was secured when Alex Campana set up fellow winger David Pearce for the third.

It was not such good news for Hemel on Monday night, however, as their friendly clash with Wealdstone was called off due to heavy rain which fell throughout the afternoon.

The game was rescheduled for Tuesday night, but that has also been cancelled as Wealdstone could not field a team.

The Hemel Town FC sponsorship draw – which was scheduled to take place on Monday night – will now be held on Saturday 1 during the Charity Cup game against fierce local rivals St Albans City.
