Hemel Hempstead Town will be looking to return to winning ways when they welcome Hitchin Town to Vauxhall Road tomorrow afternoon for a vitally important Calor League Southern Premier Division clash.

The Tudors were held to a 0-0 draw by St Albans in their last outing, but they still boast a seven-point lead at the top of the league table.

The Tudors have been favourites for the title all season, and manager Dean Brennan said: “We’ve got to stay focused and take it game by game.

“In life you’ve got to take these opportunities, both individually and as a team. We ain’t looking at nobody else and we know what we’ve got to do.

“Everything I saw in the potential for the future of this football club when I joined is starting to come into fruition.

“We learnt so much from last year when we had a really poor end to the season.”

The Tudors are now unbeaten in eight league games – winning six during that run – and they will be desperate to extend that sequence tomorrow.

Chesham United are now seven points behind Hemel with a game in hand, and Hemel meet The Generals on Monday, April 21 in what could turn out to be a league championship decider.

Hemel will be looking for revenge over Hitchin having lost 2-0 to tomorrow’s opponents on the opening day of the season, and Nick Gelis, owner of football statistics and predictions website, believes the Tudors will do the business.

He said: “This week the stats suggest an easy game for Hemel. Hitchin have failed to find the back of the net in 7 of their last 29 league games and they only taken four out of a possible 15 points from their last five league games.

“In contrast, Hemel have taken 13 points from their last five games and still hold the title of best attack in Europe, with an amazing 120 goals!

“If Hemel get on top early, they will overwhelm the visitors as, in the 27 league games that Hemel have been winning at H/T this season, they’ve won 26 and drawn 1.

“This weekend the stats point to an easy Hemel win, over 2.5 goals and Hemel win at H/T and F/T.”

Tomorrow’s game kicks-off at 3pm. See for details.
