Hemel Hempstead Town Academy graduate Ben Pattie has signed a professional contract with Championship side Queens Park Rangers.
The 17-year-old striker has put pen to paper on a two year deal, having impressed during a two-week training spell with Harry Redknapp’s side.
Pattie, who was an Academy player last season and made a successful transition into Dean Brennan’s first team squad at the end of the campaign, had attracted the interest of 12 clubs since pre-season – including six Premier League sides.
Pattie rose to prominence during last season’s U18 Academy team, displaying the early signs of his fearsome left foot, strength and intelligent movement which led to his call-up into the first team at just 16 years of age.
A Hemel Town FC spokesman said: “It goes without saying that everyone – team-mates, fans, staff and sponsors of the club – wish Ben every success at QPR for the future.
“Naturally we will all be following his and QPR’s progress with great anticipation and excitement.”
