Tring Athletic returned home from London with a point as they got their first taste of competitive football in three weeks.

Athletic had to come from behind twice through strikers Martin Skinner and Reon Thomas but will feel disappointed that they did not pick up all three points against their hosts who played the last 30 minutes with 10 men.

It was the Tigers who took the lead after 10 minutes when they carved open the Athletic defence, allowing Terrence Cariba to score.

The visitors did not have to wait long to level matters, however, as Skinner coolly lobbed the keeper to make the it 1-1 in the 11th minute.

Despite some more impressive play by Skinner, it was the home side who struck again in the 34th minute when Jose Huender Das Santos thrashed the ball high into the net.

Sam Joliffe came off the bench in the 56th minute for his first appearance since mid-December and within six minutes he became embroiled in a fracas which saw a red card for Joad Rodriques.

Athletic started to make their extra man pay, and an equaliser duly arrived in the 73rd minute when Jack Sunderland’s cross was converted at the far post by Thomas.
