AFC Dunstable 1-5 Hemel Hempstead Town
HEMEL Town made it three pre-season wins on the spin thanks to a comfortable 5-1 victory at AFC Dunstable on Wednesday evening.
Goals from Matthew Judge, James Faulks, Dave Pearce, Danny May and Chris Casey did the damage for Hemel, who have now scored 11 goals in their last three friendly fixtures.
After a bright start, the Tudors were hit on the break after six minutes when Dunstable scored following a quick counter-attack.
Hemel soon settled back down, played some nice passing football, and were rewarded after 21 minutes when Judge levelled the scores with a sublime chip.
Faulks curled a shot in from the edge of the box to make it 2-1, before scorer turned provider as he set up Dave Pearce for the third.
The second half continued in much the same fashion, with Hemel making most of the running despite multiple changes by manager Dean Brennan.
It was one of the regulars from the last two seasons, Danny May, who topped off an impressive individual performance with a long range shot which flew into the top corner to put the Tudors 4-1 up, and they finished the night off with a fifth from trialist Chris Casey.
All in all, it was another decent performance, with the side continuing to improve and leaving Tudors fans with the feeling that things are definately moving in the right direction.
Next up for Hemel is a trip to the seaside at Great Yarmouth on Saturday.
