WYCOMBE Wanderers FC have signed goalkeeper Lewis Todd to their Centre of Excellence on a two year contract.

12-year-old Lewis, from Chesham Road in Bovingdon, joins the League One club after spending the previous two years contracted to Luton Town FC.

During his time at Luton, the Hemel Hempstead School pupil played in matches against Premier League youth teams including Liverpool, Manchester City and Newcastle United. He also tested himself against some of the biggest European clubs such as Valencia, Bayer Leverkusen and Hamburg.

Lewis decided to move to Wycombe at the end of last season and reported for pre-season training with the U13 squad last week.

He has spent the close season training with professional goalkeeping coach Sean Griffith.

“Sean is one of the best goalkeeping coaches in the game. I know that with his expertise and with the excellent training Wycombe will give me, I have every chance of making it,” said Lewis.

The new season gets under way in September and Lewis says there are two teams which he is especially looking forward to meeting – former team Luton and the club he supports, Queens Park Rangers.

“There are some great players in the Luton team but they won’t be scoring against me!” he said.

Lewis is also looking forward to further European experience with Wycombe and will be travelling to Holland to train and play against PSV Eindhoven and Ajax in the new year.
