18-goal Tring Ladies smash Stevenage

THE Tring Ladies’ Fourth XI were the pick of the teams for Tring Hockey Club this weekend as they thrashed Stevenage 18-0.

Having beaten Broxbourne 9-0 last week, the side continued their hot run of form with 14 goals in a second half demolition of Stevenage.

Charlotte Butler finished the game with an incredible nine goals as Tring proved far too strong for their opponents.

Goals from Emma Boddington and Mia Cutting, though, were not enough for the Ladies’ Seconds as they went down 6-2 at Letchworth.

And the Ladies’ Thirds also suffered a loss as they were beaten 2-0 by Saffron Walden despite an excellent performance from Amy Chaplin.

The Mens’ Second XI, however, continued their winning streak with a 5-1 win away at Wycombe.

Greg Roach bagged a hat-trick for Tring, and Wayne McGuire and Jack Levitt - with his first goal of the season - also got on the scoresheet.
