A bonus point win for terrific Tring

TRING Rugby Club came out on top in a high-scoring trip to Basingstoke this weekend.

As well as the points earned by the win, Tring bagged five tries to secure a bonus point which creates a six-point gap between themselves and Basingstoke in the league table.

Tring opened the scoring through a Tim Loughnan try and, after the hosts hit back, Nathan Lambden went over for Tring’s second.

Basingstoke regained the lead, but Lambden and Loughnan both grounded again to hand the advantage back to the visitors.

Dave Shotton extended Tring’s lead and, despite a late Basingstoke effort, the visitors held on for the 37-29 victory.

Next up for Tring is a home match with third-placed Barnes at Cow Lane on Sunday.

The match kicks-off at 2.15pm and all supporters are welcome to attend.
