Following on from a successful second round of their Club Championships on Saturday afternoon, 25 swimmers from Berkhamsted Swimming Club went to the Watford Open on Sunday and set about improving even further.
A total of 93 swims saw 49 new PB times, 13 new and 21 improved county qualifying times, 26 club records, 16 gold medals, 15 silvers and 13 bronzes.
A flying second 25m from Christian Nel in the 50m freestyle saw him smash his PB by nearly a second while also taking the meet record for his age.
Mason Brand romped away with the 400m IM, winning by a huge margin as he dropped almost 17 seconds to take gold in a regional qualifying time, and then improved his 50m breaststroke PB to win silver.
Charlotte Watson won her 400m freestyle heat with a 17-second PB, while Amy Stoker shattered her own 400m freestyle PB by 20 seconds – coming home just ahead of Charlotte Shaw who had also swum a PB.
Jordan Northwood took the silver medal in a PB time in the 400m freestyle, while Danny Ritchie improved in each of his four races.
JonLuke Summerfield, 18, lowered his 200m IM and 50m butterfly times to record CQTs in both, and Izzie Soulsby won the 50m butterfly and 50m freestyle – both in PB and county qualifying times.
Zach Patel and Owen Payne set two new PBs apiece, while Jess Potts returned to some of her old form with a county qualifying time in the 200m breaststroke and a 50m freestyle PB.
Peter Lever bagged four PBs and there were further county qualification times for Jordan Northwood, Abbie Brown, Ellen Northwood, Ritchie, Eli MacDonald and Harry Ormerod.
The other swimmers who recorded PBs were Holly Hannaby, MacDonald, Amelie Baker and Harriet Horwood-Jones, with Jenny Atwill, Lauren Collingwood, Ella Haas, Freddie Ormerod, Ash Prior and Izzie Painter also competing.
