Berkhamsted I 0 Southgate I 0
The men’s first XI finally got their season up-and-running as they registered their first point of the campaign.
Berko dominated the first half, but could not turn their possession into goalscoring chances.
The second half was more closely matched, with both sides failing to capitalise on good scoring opportunities.
James Barron was forced to play the final ten minutes in goal following regular goalkeeper Jay Cremin’s yellow card, but Berko hung on well for a deserved share of the spoils.
Berkhamsted II 7 Southgate II 0
Berkhamsted II were clearly hungry for goals as they ran seven past a depleted Southgate II side.
Berko impressed throughout, with goalkeeper Nick Prowse named man of the match for a disciplined performance between the sticks.
Oli Bowman finished the game with four goals to his name, while the Berkhamsted defensive unit also put in a strong display.
Berkhamsted III 5 Harpenden 0
A rousing pre-match team talk from skipper Mark Robinson helped the third team to a fast start against a young and enthusiastic Harpenden team.
Maintaining good possession, Berko were rewarded with an early goal as Matt Prowse deflected the ball home.
Berko maintained the vast majority of possession and doubled their lead shortly before half-time. Amish Adodra dragged the keeper and defence towards him before finding Paul Dubenski at the far post.
Harpenden improved in the second Half, but two goals from Tom Kemplen put the result beyond doubt, before James Russell wrapped up the win with a fifth.
Berkhamsted IV 2 Hertford IV I
Berkhamsted made a first appearance at their home ground in Tring and started brightly but could not make a breakthrough before half time.
Berko started the second half as they did the first and this time they made the pressure tell as Richard Korn passed for Richard Peachey to open the scoring.
Hertford forced an equaliser, but Ed Goodwyn snatched the win for Berko as he converted a penalty.
Hertford 2 Berkhamsted V 1
After winning 8-1 last week, the men’s fifth XI were brought crashing down to earth against Hertford.
It was Berko who took the lead as Ben Moorhouse hit a reverse stick effort which flew in off the goalkeeper.
In the second half, Berko continued to have the best of the game but Hertford snatched the win three minutes to play.
