Action begins to intensify in Hemel league

TABLE TENNIS: The league tables are starting to take shape in the Hemel Hempstead league, as the dominant sides begin to stamp their authority on proceedings.

In the second round of results in Division One, Waters I continued their winning start to the season with a 7-3 victory over Row thanks to maximums from Mark Lyons and Gary Keers.

The side, though, were then made to settle for a 5-5 draw with club-mates Waters A.

Meanwhile, Row bounced back with a 7-3 win over Flamsted I – despite the heroics of Angela Smith who won all three games for the losing team.

Adeyfield I, meanwhile, got their second 10-0 win of the season, with Glen Wilkes, Mark York and Dave Wackrill all picking up maximums.

In Division Two, second-placed Flamstead A picked up wins over Adeyfield B and Flamstead B – 10-0 and 8-2, respectively.

Flamstead B then redeemed themselves with a 9-1 win over Waters C, with Shahab Shirazi and Darren Roan winning three each.

Waters C, however, retaliated in kind as they saw off Kings Langley I 9-1. Aiden Walsh and Andrew Mitzman scored maximums.

KLCC then lost 8-2 to McAlpine I.

In Division Three, Xinjun Wang secured a hat-trick of wins for McAlpine A, while St Georges have won two and lost one.
