Following on from their recent Saracens Cup win, Hemel Camelot U7s brought home their third cup of the season with a hard-fought win at the Tring Festival.
A glorious day’s weather saw the the side shine in a spirited exhibition of mini-rugby.
Flowing wide play, tight defence and some moments of exemplary ball handling took them through to the final with five straight wins against challenging regional teams including Old Albanians and Bishop Stortford.
With the wind in their sails, the Camelot side kicked off the final match against the host club’s A team.
As expected, Hemel were given a tough game against one of the county’s leading squads, but they dug deep to earn a well-deserved win.
Camelot U8s Knights also put in a good show at the festival, winning all their preliminary games to make it to the final of the Tring Cup.
They battled well in the competition showdown, but were eventually edged out by 1 try by OAs and finished as runners-up.
