A team of celebrities have been put through their paces at The Snow Centre in Hemel Hempastead ahead of the launch of a new Channel 4 reality show.

On Sunday, January 26, prime-time programme The Jump will hit our screens, with 12 celebrities battling it out in a series of winter sports events ahead of the Winter Olympics in Sochi which get under way at the start of next month.

The Jump will be presented by Davina McCall and features Sir Steve Redgrave, comedian Marcus Brigstocke, TOWIE’s Amy Childs, TV personality Laura Hamilton, Five singer Ritchie Neville, cricketer Darren Gough, party promoter Henry Conway, hairdresser Nicky Clarke, singer Sinitta, TV presenter Melinda Messenger, former Pussycat Doll Kimberly Wyatt and broadcaster Anthea Turner.

Their training began at The Snow Centre, with ex-Olympian and TV presenter Graham Bell giving many of the celebrities their first taste of skiing.

They have now headed off to the Austrian Alps, where they will confront their fears to compete each night in a series of open air alpine challenge including skiing, skeleton, slalom and ski jumping.

Coach Graham Bell said: “I can’t wait to see who is going to hold their nerve over the series and take The Jump title.

“We’ve had so much fun coaching all these people, from their early days on snow at The Snow Centre to facing their fears on the big jump in Innsbruck!”
