HEMEL Stags produced a fine late fight-back to see off Valley Cougars 37-26.
With 13 minutes to go, Cougars held a 26-24 lead, but Stags dug deep to turn the game on its head and secure the win.
Hemel started the game well and opened the scoring courtesy of a Ryan Butcher try.
Cougars hit back through Liam Watson, before Butcher restored the Hemel advantage with a penalty.
Butcher added another successful kick, but Cougars responded with a try through Chris Speck.
And soon after, hosts Valley took the lead as Shaun Owens went over to put his side 14-10 ahead.
Hemel began the second half brightly and soon found themselves back in front as a Martyn Smith try and another Butler penalty gave them the advantage.
In an end-to-end encounter, it was Valley who got their noses back in front as Danyl Davies and Owens went over, either side of a second Butcher try.
But as the Cougars sensed victory, tries from Mitch Henderson and Eddie M’baraga snatched the win for Hemel.
