Festival players ready to take to the courts

NETBALL players from across Dacorum are limbering up for Saturday’s Back to Netball Festival.

The event is part of Dacorum’s Festival of Culture – a programme of specially-funded events designed to encourage people to get involved and celebrate the London 2012 Olympic and Paralympic Games.

The Back to Netball Festival takes place at Ashlyns School in Berkhamsted from 10am to 3pm, and will involve adults who are returning to the sport.

Teams will be pitted against other participants from Dacorum, as well as competitors from outside the borough, and the Dacorum Netball Forum is encouraging spectators to go along to watch what promises to be an exciting event.

The festival is a culmination of the highly successful Back to Netball projects across Dacorum.

It will provide the first taste of real competition for the participants from the Tring and Berkhamsted sessions, as well as the groups in four of the Dacorum netball clubs – Shelley, Dacorum, Connexions and Camelot.

Further details of the Back to Netball sessions in Tring and Berkhamsted will be available at the festival or by emailing Alison Adams at alison.adams@sportspace.co.uk or by calling 01442 228425.
