A Team GB snowboarder who is currently competing at the Winter Olympics in Sochi will be leading a snowboarding academy at The Snow Centre in Hemel Hempstead this summer.
Jamie Nicholls, 20, has joined forces with The Snow Centre to help develop the next generation of snowboard talent at the Ignite Junior Snowboard Academy.
Ignite Junior Snowboard Academy offers young snowboarders, aged 7 to 16, a club where they are given the chance to progress from Level 6 Snowboarding to advanced freeride and freestyle.
The youngsters will develop their passion for snowsports and have the rare opportunity to prepare for competitions during two-hour sessions on Saturday mornings.
With guidance from Nicholls – who started snowboarding when he was just seven years old and by the age of nine could already complete front flips and backside 900s – The Snow Centre hopes to inspire the next generation of UK talent to follow in his tracks.
Nicholls was the star performer for GB on the first day of action in Russia, automatically qualifying for the slopestyle final after a scintillating performance in qualifying.
Before flying out for the Games, he said: “I am delighted to be an ambassador for The Snow Centre and really look forward to helping out where I can.
“I want to push the Ignite Junior Snowboard Club as I think this is key to bringing up new talent and hopefully one day seeing some of them represent our county in the Olympics too.
“I’m so looking forward to trying out new freestyle parks at the centre this summer and making it the best park to ride in the UK. ”
