London Irish Amateur 32-25 Tring
Tring were beaten by London Irish Amateur as their impressive run of form came to an end.
The result comes as a disappointment for Tring, who had lost just two games previously this season.
It was the visitors who opened the scoring as Liam Chennells converted a penalty to put his side 3-0 ahead.
And things got even better for Tring shortly afterwards as Nathan Lambden took advantage of a poor kick from the hosts to go over and extend the lead to 8-0.
That seemed to spark the home side into life, though, and the WIld Geese responded with a devastating three-try burst from Ollie Johnson, Neil Piggot and Ed Keohane to take a 21-8 lead.
The first-half action was not done there, though, and Tom Newton ran in Tring’s second try to reduce the deficit to nine points.
The second half started in a similar manner to the first, with Keohane adding his second try for Irish, before Sam Clapham responded for Tring.
The teams traded tries again, with William Matei cancelling out an effort from the hosts, but Irish held on for the win.
