Good Evans: Fred battles through the wind to claim Little Hay medal

Gale force gusts of wind overcame many of the competitors in the Little Hay Senior Men’s December Stableford as golf balls flew upwards, sideways and even backwards.

Despite the conditions, a few excellent scores were made and the competition was won by Fred Evans with 39 points.

Bob Bussey came second with 38 points and Chris Jarman came third with 37.

Meanwhile, the third round of the Little Hay Winter League was played on Sunday, with 16 pairs on the course.

An excellent score of 48 points by Dave Smith and Paul Williams took them into a two-point lead over Jim Wallace and Chris Miles.

The competition is far from decided, however, as it takes place over ten games with the best six scores to count.
