There was more silverware at the weekend for the Hemel Hempstead Camelot U10 youngsters as they won the coveted County Championship for the second time.
Hosted by north London club Barnet Elizabethans, teams from across Herts flocked for the one of highlights of the junior rugby season, with quality rugby on show from the outset.
With their usual flair and discipline, the Jay City Finance-sponsored Camelot young guns had what it took to come out on top once more as they showcased a superb display of control and discipline.
Opening games against Tring A and B teams saw a draw for the Camelot Wizards and a strong win for the Camelot Knights.
It was a fine start from both teams, with the Wizards particularly impressive as they continue to develop into a team with a promising future.
Good support in the rucks with strength in the driving mauls saw some strong attacking play, but the following games unfortunately saw narrow wins for the opposition despite some superb rugby from the Wizards.
The Knights, meanwhile, went on to record wins against Tabard, Bishop’s Stortford, Hitchin and host club Barnet to set up a meeting with Old Albanians in the final.
Beaten in the semi-finals by the OAs last year, the Camelot youngsters were hungry for revenge and one of the toughest games of the season saw the local heroes win by a single try to take the title.
