HERTFORDSHIRE are on the brink of a third successive Aegon Summer County Cup title following a dominant display in Eastbourne.
Herts men, skippered by Jeff Wayne, recorded an impressive 7-2 victory over Yorkshire to put them one win away from the silverware.
No play was possible on the grass as weather played havoc with the schedule but after triumphing on the artificial surface, Wayne is backing his squad to finish the job against second-placed Kent.
“We’ve obviously had a great time and I’m very proud of the team to be going in to the final day without a loss,” said Wayne.
“We’ve been here before at this point in the tournament and been pipped at the final hurdle but we’ll certainly be looking for the win.
“I think any player or captain would tell you that this has been one of the most different tournaments due to the exceptional rain and weather.”
