THE Tring U7 Lions have been crowned London Wasps EMC Gold Cup Champions after a superb victory at Adams Park on Saturday.
After remaining unbeaten all day, Tring took to the pitch before Wasps’ clash with Gloucester and saw off Guildfordians to take the trophy.
The Lions started their campaign with a tight game against Canterbury Spitfires which they edged 7-6.
Next up, Tring took on Marlow and picked up another narrow win, with strong supporting runners finally delivering the 5-4 victory.
The final pool game against Wasps was a much more one-sided affair, as the Tring boys dominated proceedings to take a 6-1 triumph.
That booked the Lions a place in the semi-finals against a Guildfordians side, and a gruelling defensive effort saw Tring secure a place in the final with a 5-4 win.
The boys then headed to Adams Park to take on another Guildfordians side, and the Lions roared to an 8-5 triumph to take their fourth trophy of the season.
The team’s focus now turns to the highly-anticipated county tag tournament which is being hosted by TringRugby on 22 April at Cow Lane.
