Little Gaddesden Bowls & Croquet Club has come out fighting as the new season looms.
Having set an ambitious plan to double their membership, they have organised two open days at the club on April 26 and June 28, as well setting aside time on two days each week to take on and coach new members.
Having engaged with the Bowls Development Alliance, they have five new coaches in the making to support the recruitment.
“The club needed to get its name put about again” said captain Alun March. “We have engaged with the West Herts League and will be playing more matches than in any recent year against local clubs.
“We will also be entering gala days and have ambitions to get players into the county competitions. Playing bowls in teams is great fun and is for all ages.”
You can meet some of the club members at the Hemel Hempstead market on Saturday, April 5, where they will have a stall.
The club is set in the picturesque Ashridge Estate just outside Hemel Hempstead, on Church Lane.
