Hemel Stags have announced the signing of Kyal Greene – an Aussie-born and bred backrower who has represented Malta several times and is expected to become a firm favourite with the Pennine Way fans.
Coach Troy Perkins said: “Kyal is another fantastic signing. He has been playing in a really good comp back in Australia and his experience of playing at a good level for several years will be invaluable for us.
“He is a rangy backrower who is a real threat on an edge and plays with plenty of aggression.
“He has represented Malta in several test matches this year and I was really impressed with his game against Lebanon.
“We have added plenty of quality players to our squad for this season and I have no doubt that all the players I have bought in as well as the players we have re-signed have the right attitude and commitment to make this season a success; Kyal will be a big influence and help to some of the younger ones”.
Greene cannot wait for the season to start, and said: “I’m really excited to be coming over and joining the Stags. It’s an opportunity I couldn’t refuse and I’m looking forward to bringing to the club everything I have to offer.”
Greene’s signing has brought the number of new players joining the Stags for 2016 up to 11 as the hard working coaching team headed by Perkins and his assistant coach Colin Baker have searched for quality players to improve the club’s performance over 2015.
With several more players yet to finalise deals things are looking good at Pennine Way.
