There were only a handful of games for the Berkhamsted & Hemel Hempstead Hockey Club sides at the weekend, but the ladies’ 1s provided the star performance on Saturday with another significant win – this time against Aylesbury.
Player of the match was Leanne Keatley who scored the first goal in a 3-1 triumph which means that promotion is very much within reach.
The ladies’ 4s, meanwhile, had a thrilling game against Broxbourne but came away with a narrow 3-2 defeat. Player of the match was Sam Pavlik who played brilliantly in goal to keep Berko in the game.
On Sunday the ladies’ 2s beat St Neots to all but confirml their promotion for yet another season. The narrow 1-0 away win was impressive given that they had to call up five players from the 3s due to half-term unavailability.
Elsewhere, the men’s 5s had a thrilling 3-3 draw away at Letchworth. Particular mention goes to young Will Hodges who scored his first goal for the club.
With poor availability the Men’s 2s had a tough but gutsy game against the Winchmore Hill and Enfield first team, slipping to a 4-1 defeat.
