IT was celebration time for Hemel Stags U7s after they became the first minis team in the club’s history to win a festival.
Competing against Medway Dragons, Southend Spartans and Elmbridge Eagles, the Stags boys managed to remain the only undefeated team as they notched up four wins and two draws.
In only their second full contact competition, the youngsters showed some terrific tackling technique and held their defensive line superbly, while scoring some impressive tries.
Try scorers were Joseph Stocks (6), Dylan King (2) and Zephaniah Curston, while player of the tournament went to Oliver Dalton for his strong running and defence in the middle of the pitch.
Elsewhere, the U6s and U9s were both in action as well, with the U9s registering their first win in their second full contact festival.
The newly formed U11s, meanwhile, did not manage to win a game but demonstrated some real character by continuing to compete throughout against much more experienced opposition.
They were also the only team in the competition to field a mixed side of boys and girls.
