Youngsters at Tring Hockey Club have been rewarded for impressive performances on the pitch.

A number of the club’s colts have been selected for county squads, while Libby Marsden, Amy Chaplin, Milly Jones, Josh Percy, Livvy Vize, Katy Hart and Ruth Hart have also been chosen to play for their region.

Katy Hart was then picked to join the Saxon Tigers who will train at Lilleshall. At U17 this is the highest level that can be achieved within the England Hockey system.

Katy, who goes to Ashlyns School, said: “I was absolutely thrilled and honoured to be included.”

To underline the quality and skill of Tring’s youngsters, the Tring U16 girls recorded a resounding win over local rivals Amersham and Chalfont in the Home Counties League.

They took the game by the scruff of the neck from the start and won 5-0. Goal scorers were Olivia Wright, Christina Slater, Ruth Hart, Laura Roberts and Becca Prentice.

The club, meanwhile, is on the hunt for new players – both young and old – to strengthen their playing squads.
