Ambitious Hemel Stags have continued to add to their squad for next season with the signing of two more players.
Tom Bailey has joined from Northampton Demons, while Keighley Cougars utility back Jordan Aitchison has also agreed a move to Pennine Way.
Speaking about the acquisition of Bailey, Hemel coach Troy Perkins said: “Tom’s had a great season with Northampton Demons, winning the Midlands Conference Final.
“He has been involved in the academy at Sheffield Eagles prior to this and he will be a good asset to the club.
“He is young and has impressed me with his enthusiasm for the game and how keen he is to be playing semi-professional rugby league.
“He is versatile as he can play centre or second row and I am looking forward to him joining the squad for pre-season.”
Bailey said: “I am looking forward to joining Hemel Stags for the 2016 season and working hard in pre-season, and hopefully I will be a good asset to the team.”
Aitchison, meanwhile, is a young player who has come up through the ranks of Keighley and has also benefitted from spending a year in the Bradford Bulls Academy.
Perkins continued: “It’s great to have Jordan on board for this coming season. He has been in some good environments with Keighley Cougars and Bradford Bulls and he will add some quality to our back-line.
“Jordan is an exciting player with plenty of speed who can play full-back or in the halves. He is a proven try scorer and I think joining the Stags is a great opportunity to further his playing career where he can be a key member of our squad.”
Echoing his new coach’s sentiments, Aitchison said: “I am greatly looking forward to playing for Hemel Stags this season; I have always been impressed with the club’s set-up ever since I visited as a junior.
“I will work hard in training and in matches to help the club continue its development and feel that, with the experience of the coaches and the quality of the players already signed, Hemel Stags will surprise many people this coming season.”
