TWO Tring Martial Arts students have been honoured with special achievement awards in kickboxing.
Eleven-year-old Joshua Brown and Catherine Smith, 13, were among 38 students who attended the assessment day as they worked towards their goal of attaining black belts.
Joshua was the only junior student testing for his first brown belt, and, despite the intensive nature of the assessment, he held his own throughout.
Joshua’s parents, Kevin and Julie Brown, said: “He is on a complete high after achieving his next grade and hasn’t stopped smiling since.
“The extra award has done wonders for his confidence”.
Catherine, meanwhile, worked hard to achieve her yellow belt and was awarded an A level pass.
The youngster is delighted with the award, and her parents said it has boosted her self esteem.
Joshua and Catherine were not the only students who impressed at the assessment, though, with every pupil achieving their next grade.
And the club is always open to new participants who wish to give martial arts a try.
