Travelling to Farnham in Surrey, Gade Valley Harriers trio Peter Tucker, Sam Tucker and Rupert Cavenagh-Mainwaring were competing in the Farnham Pilgrim Marathon and Half Marathon.

It was a multi-terrain route for both races, taking in the rolling hills of the North Downs. Peter completed the half marathon in 2:35 and Sam completed the full marathon in 4:55.

Elsewhere, Simon Geary was at the Shardeloes 10K race in Amersham on Sunday, tackling the hilly route and finishing in a very respectable 47:28, for 29th place out of 119 men.

Sunday also saw the annual Leighton 10-mile race, where Steve Boyd, Steve Newing and Andy Bishop were flying the flag for the Harriers.

Boyd was first home for the Harriers in 1:09:57, with Newing close second in 1:11:40 and Bishop coming home in a new PB of 1:13:45.

Meanwhile, Paul Rumble from Gade Valley Tri was competing in his first triathlon, at Brackley in Northamptonshire.

A sprint distance triathlon, Rumble completed the 400m swim, 15km bike ride and 5km run in around 65 minutes.

Gade Valley Harrier Karis Thomas got down and dirty for a 5-mile mud and obstacle race named Push it For Peace at Watford’s Cassiobury Park.

The challenging course included a lot of mud and water, with wading, and swinging across the river Gade and crawling through pipes – raising money for the Watford Peace Hospice.

Elsewhere, the St Albans parkrun saw four Harriers in action this week, with Simon Wallis first home for the club in 19:19, followed by Russ Bailey in a new PB of 21:27, then Jenny Barnett in 30:18 and newcomer Georgie Pymer in a PB of 30:22.

Vince Ellerby was the lone Harrier at Black Park parkrun, finishing 10th out of 363 runners, in a time of 19:44.
