Giants rise from the past to power annual charity event

Monster machines will be hitting the road to support an annual charity event for all the family in Potten End this weekend.

The Dacorum Steam and Country Fayre, organised by the Dacorum Machinery and Steam Preservation group, is now in its seventh year and will be welcoming visitors on Saturday and Sunday between 10am and 5pm.

There will also be classic cars, military vehicles and motorbikes on display.

For youngsters, Thomas the Tank Engine will be paying a visit to the showground at Green Croft Farm, Potten End

The event has raised £75,000 for Northchurch-based Hospice of St Francis since it began in 2006. Hospice director of nursing Alison Allard will join Hemel Hempstead MP Mike Penning in officially opening the fayre at 2pm on the Saturday.
