‘Choice’ is the buzz word at Center Parcs, the break that puts the ‘you’ back in ‘your time’
Holidaying at home has never been better or closer this summer thanks to the ever-growing Center Parcs empire.
Prior to a few weeks ago Center Parcs in Elveden was the nearest resort offering the endless fun –that only Center Parcs (and possibly Disney World) can.
That was until the exciting Woburn resort opened its doors right on our doorstep, just 20 minutes from Hemel Hempstead, Berkhamsted and Tring.
There is nothing quite like the Center Parcs experience, it puts the ‘you’ back in ‘your time’. You ditch the car for a few days and saddle up for a proper family holiday of a lifetime because you would have to travel far and wide to find such natural, beautiful surroundings in Europe let alone the UK.
For a start the accommodation is fantastic and caters for a variety of budgets.
Being tucked away in the woods with deers, squirrels and rabbits as your neighbours is a joy to behold.
Center Parcs is not cheap but you most certainly get what you pay for — which is quality, brilliant service, choice and to be at one with nature.
There is always a tangible buzz in the village centre and everything on offer, from playing on the beach if you are blessed with some nice weather, to enjoying wonderful food in the restaurants (Hucks is usually a clear family favourite with plenty of variety and food on surfboards!) and riding around as free as birds on bikes is exhilarating.
For a family with young children wanting a short break away, but still wanting all the comforts of home, you cannot beat it because everything is geared towards children.
Every restaurant there is a play area. Every bike park, there is something to do not far away.
If one word sums up Center Parcs it would be choice.
The variety of sporting activities on offer range from the slow paced lawn bowls to badminton, squash and taking on the brand new Tropical Cyclone – a world-first family water ride which reaches speeds of up to 30mph with a 45 degree drop – pictured here.
The Center Parcs website allows you to book activities such as horse riding, pottery, cake making, ten pin bowling and a plethora of pursuits on the lake and up in the trees on the high wire adventure.
The petting farm brings nature even closer and offers great value for money for a parent and child.
If you wanted to you could be doing something from dawn to dusk. Or you could simply enjoy the surroundings and the peace and quiet it brings.
Activities and restaurants can be booked online in advance once your accommodation is organised or on the many touchscreen booking points dotted around the resort itself.
It takes only a matter of minutes and means no queuing to book things at a central area or waiting on the phone, but there is certainly no pressure to do stuff.
Looking for the ideal summer holiday? Look no further.
Summer 2014 breaks at its fifth village, Woburn Forest, are now available to book. After two years of construction, Center Parcs has thrown open the doors to Woburn Forest, its latest village, which offers a holiday at home, quite literally for Dacorum residents.
The new village opened to guests two weeks ago and is the fifth village in the UK and the closest to Hemel Hempstead, Berkhamsted and Tring.
It is home to 625 lodges, a 75 bedroom hotel, Center Parcs’ largest Subtropical Swimming Paradise and a state-of-the-art spa with six luxury Spa Suites.
There are also a wide range of shops and restaurants, including The Shearing House, a restaurant that will be unique to Woburn Forest.
True to form, the new village will also be offering a wide variety of indoor and outdoor activities to guests.
Families can create their own unique short break in the forest choosing from adventurous activities such as archery, canoeing and laser combat, nature activities like falconry, bird watching and willow weaving, creative pursuits such as pottery painting and sports including badminton, tennis and fencing to name just a few.
Aside from a multitude of jobs being created, it is also perfect for those looking to keep it British and holiday at home this summer with Woburn right on their doorstep.
Martin Dalby, CEO of Center Parcs said: “The opening of Woburn Forest means that the Center Parcs experience is within easy reach of even more families in the UK and will bring something new to Center Parcs with a number of exciting new concepts and designs which we know guests will enjoy.”
